(@notsominidude) A lot of people think it is. I don’t.
In my opinion, 5- and 6- string sweeps are much easier for getting the technique down, as well as building speed since you don’t have to change direction as often.
If you’re just beginning (I ume you are), then I’d say this lesson is pretty much the best way to start out. Also learn some minor arpeggios. Remember to start slow.

paganini’s stuff used sweeping motions on violin that are similar to sweep picking for guitar, theres several guitar version of his most famous “sweeping” piece, forget which one..

hes a good teacher, but he should use a guitar and gear that the majority of people have. people learning the guitar arent going to have a $2400 Paul Reed Smith… it will never sound right compared to their beginer guitar.
